Project Library

Purpose

To provide a single repository (both electronic and paper copies) for all the Project’s Documents and reference information.

Derivation and Source Requirements

The Project Library contents will be derived from the Project Management Plans, in particular the Deliverable Breakdown Structures.

Composition

The Project Library consists of an electronic file repository and a location for hard (paper copies) of all Project Documentation.

The Project Library will contain copies of all the Projects documents as defined by the Documentation Plans (Deliverable Breakdown Structures).

The Project Library will also contain copies of all the reference information including standards, procedures and policies.

The Library will be divided into 3 sections:

·       Documents been developed and under review including all document review notes,

·       Issued documents (signed and latest issue version of all documents), and

·       Previous, old, versions of issued documents.

Quality Criteria

Does the Project Library contain all the documents defined by the Project’s Plans?

Are the documents stored in an appropriate place and can be easily found?

Does the Project Library align and support the configuration status?

Quality Method and Skills

The Project Library organisation and structure will be defined in the Documentation Plan.

The Project Support Office will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Project Library.

The Project Library will be audited as part of the Quality Assurance process.
